for the past 76 years.
CANSA’s mission is to reduce the impact of
cancer by promoting health in all

South Africa,
through advocacy and the sustainable
facilitation of research, prevention, early
detection and care.
CANSA runs a number of prevention programmes,
screenings and patient care services around
the country, with the support of individual
and corporate partners. In addition, CANSA
runs national projects including Relay For
Life, Shavathon, Toktokkie, Cuppa for CANSA
and Sanlam Golf.
CANSA is also a leading funder of cancer
research in South Africa and to this end,

towards cancer research grants and projects
CANSA staff and volunteers encourage all
South Africans to live a healthy lifestyle,
which includes not smoking, eating healthy
food, drinking lots of water, getting
regular exercise, going for regular medical
check-ups and conducting regular
self-examination.
CANSA relies on volunteers who are the
backbone of the organization to assist in a
variety of roles from governance and
leadership to health promotion, fundraising
